"This is our second stay in Normandy and 5th trip to France as a group, this is by far the best place we have ever stayed in. The pictures undersell the enormity of the accommodation, which is spacious to say the least. The whole complex is lovingly restored and well equipped. We wanted for nothing in terms of facilities. I would wholly recommend this and would consider returning. Awesome."
“Boudet was the perfect location for our large group for my 40th Birthday celebration, we filled the 3 buildings with people and enjoyed having banquets every night. The Farmhouse has the biggest dining space as you can put an extra table at the end which we needed. It was very well equipped, I like that towels and bedding were included and they provided extra cots for our little ones which helped a lot. It was nice and warm inside and very cosy, I would say the Barn had a more cosy living room but all the units were beautiful and charming.
“We did have to do quite a bit of driving to get to the beaches and other sights but we were ok with that and it was worth it coming back to a place that felt like home and a place to relax after a long day.
“Everyone was very impressed and I would totally recommend this amazing rental, the owner seemed very nice and the caretakers were available when we needed them.”
"We had a really great stay at The Barn and found it to be comfortable in every aspect with everything we needed provided. There were many lovely places to visit including local towns Domfront and Mortain. We visited Bayeux and saw the tapestry, spent a day at the fishing town Cancales and enjoyed a great day at Le Mont St Michel. We would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday away from it all.”
"The Barn was a wonderful place for our family to meet for Christmas. It was wonderful to arrive to find a Christmas tree with lights and decorations to greet us. It was perfect for ages 59 down to 1 — we spent a lot of time in front of the fireplace playing games and reading, at the big dining room table eating massive meals, and took nice walks around the farm. It is also perfectly situated for day trips. We managed to drag ourselves away to Omaha Beach and the American cemetery at Colville-Sur-Mere and Mont St. Michel. But it wasn't an effort — the Barn was just so comfortable. We also spent a happy couple of hours buying Calvados and pear juice — and getting a tour — from Daniel the farmer next door. We recommend the Barn highly."
“Just 4km from the village of Barenton and about 10 from the town of Domfront, The Barn, and its adjoining properties, The Cider Press and The Farmhouse, make an ideal retreat for a gathering. The Barn is an excellent residence. With plenty of countryside and pretty villages to explore, this is an ideal place for anybody who enjoys getting away from it all, or exploring the joys of Normandy. While just my wife and I stayed on our first visit, which was actually in September 2013, I'm planning a bigger excursion with family and friends for my 60th.”
"We had a fantastic time and the house was so lovely. I am an interior designer and as such I was very impressed with what you have done to the houses to keep them as authentic and charming as possible."
"The Farmhouse was fantastic - the photos on various websites were totally accurate. We looked at them when we got home and everything looked exactly as we had it. It was also wonderfully clean when we arrived."
"We had a great week at The Farmhouse. It is a lovely property so full of character, so quiet and peaceful. It is very well equipped."
“We spent five happy and enchanting days with family and friends over Easter in this beautiful 19th Century Farmhouse located just outside the Village of Barenton in Normandy (nearest larger town "Mortain").
“As you enter you can't fail to be impressed by the quality and size of the Dining room with its huge Oak dining table which sits next to a cavernous stone Fireplace. The adjoining Living room provides tranquillity along with all the features you could wish for including beamed ceilings, characterful windows and another even more impressive fireplace. For added comfort there is English satellite TV & dvd, broadband, jigsaws and games.
“The kitchen and separate laundry pantry complete the ground floor accommodation which is well stocked with all facilities and equipment especially the all-important wine glasses!
“Upstairs the bedrooms we found delightful, decorated in sophisticated Pastel colours and giving breath-taking views of the rolling countryside. Our room on the top floor had a four poster bed, exposed roof beams along with a walk-in wardrobe and luxury en suite shower room.
“Outside, pretty gardens surround the property and provided a safe environment for our young children to explore. Alongside the rectangular grassed Courtyard is a covered seating area which would be ideal in warmer months for Alfresco dining. There is a dedicated parking area adjacent to the property for ample cars.
"Venture a little further and you can follow the path of a disused railway which is ideal for walking or cycling along.
“It would have been rude not to imbibe some of the Neighbours home produced Cider , Pear Cider and Calvados which made an additional treat to the local Wines.
“All children and adults were truly sad when it came to leave and would recommend “Boudet” wholeheartedly in every respect.”
The Cider Press
“The Cider Press is an excellent place to chill out and relax it is set in a beautiful area surrounded by apple and pear orchards with far reaching views over the countryside. The bed is very large and comfortable so getting a good night sleep is easy. There are several good eating places within a couple of miles and the old railway line walk to either Mortain or Domfont is excellent for dog walkers and cyclists alike. Take plenty of books and DVDs as there is no TV.”
“A lovely bolthole for a week's writing in a very quiet rural location. Hope to return at some point, perhaps with family to stay in one of the lovely larger houses. Can wholeheartedly recommend.”
“We thoroughly enjoyed a week in the Cider Press which exceeded all of our expectations. It is a delightful cottage, tastefully renovated set in beautiful grounds and surrounded by apple orchards. The accommodation is spacious and very comfortable with good quality bedding, towels and kitchen equipment. The fridge is small but perfectly adequate for two people. A BBQ is provided and there are bikes at the cottage which we made use of cycling miles along the country lanes and the disused railway line. The cottage is ideally positioned to visit many of Normandy's famous places of interest such as Le Mont Saint Michel and the Normandy landing beaches at Arromanche. This is a cottage you will want to visit again. A perfect holiday destination which we have already recommended to friends.”
